# Your Role<br>
We offer an attractive both a Research Associate and two PhD
Candidate positions in Optimization for Logistic Software.<br>
The successful candidate will join the SEDAN (service and data
management) research group
(<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://wwwen.uni.lu/snt/research/sedan">https://wwwen.uni.lu/snt/research/sedan</a> headed by prof. Radu
State to conduct exciting research with high impact in
collaboration with multiple stakeholders. He/she will help in
shaping state-of-the-play technology within a RDI (research,
development, and innovation) project involving international
industrial partners. <br>
He/she will perform the following tasks:<br>
* Shaping research directions and producing results. Topics
include but are not limited to operational research, optimization
algorithms, data-driven optimization<br>
* Disseminating results through scientific publications<br>
* Collaborating with our industrial partner<br>
* Carry out high-impact research within an interdisciplinary
context<br>
* Coordinating research projects and delivering outputs<br>
* Providing guidance to PhD and MSc students (only for the
research associate position)<br>
* Organizing relevant workshops and demonstrations (only for the
research associate position)<br>

# Your Profile ## (Research Associate position)<br>
* A PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science,
Applied Mathematics or a related field<br>
* Competitive research record in Operational Research, preferably
with a focus on logistics.<br>
* A previous experience in industrial projects would be a plus<br>
* Ability to work in an interdisciplinary context<br>
* Commitment, team working, and a critical mind<br>
* Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are
mandatory<br>
* Advanced scientific report writing skills<br>
<br>
## (PhD Candidate position)<br>
* An M.Sc./M.Eng. Degree in Computer Engineering, Management
Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.<br>
* Within top 10% of class during his/her graduation would be a
great plus<br>
* Ability to work in an interdisciplinary context<br>
* Commitment, team working, and a critical mind<br>
* Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are
mandatory<br>
