The School of Computing Science at the University of Glasgow seeks
applications from outstanding candidates to develop and lead research of
international standard in the area of algorithms and complexity.
The successful candidate will work with the algorithms and complexity
group in the FATA (Formal Analysis, Theory and Algorithms) research
section, where current topics include matching algorithms, graph
algorithms, constraint programming, phase transitions in algorithmic
complexity, and parallelisation.
The post holder will pursue a world-class research programme and will
teach related topics in Computing Science at all undergraduate and
postgraduate levels as well as carrying out allocated administrative
tasks. The appointment will be made at Lecturer / Senior Lecturer /
Reader level (approximately equivalent to Assistant Professor /
Associate Professor in the US) depending on knowledge, skills and
experience.
The School is creating a new research theme in Understandable Autonomous
Systems. Preference may be given to candidates who have experience of
research in algorithmic aspects of autonomous agents and multi-agent
systems, or else demonstrate the potential to actively contribute to
research in this area.
