The Department of Computer Science at the School of Science of Aalto 
University invites applications for tenure-track positions at the 
Assistant Professor level.

___Applications in all areas of Computer Science are welcomed___, with 
the following areas highlighted:

     * Algorithm Engineering,
     * Data Management,
     * Software Engineering,
     * Software Systems.

Applicants should demonstrate excellent research potential in addition 
to teaching ability. The department is committed to fostering an 
inclusive environment with diverse faculty members. Therefore, 
applications from groups that have been underrepresented in computer 
science are particularly sought. The positions have competitive salary 
as well as start-up packages. The contract also includes occupational 
health benefits.

The Department of Computer Science is an internationally-oriented 
community and home to world-class research in modern computer science, 
combining research on foundations and innovative applications. With 42 
professors and more than 400 employees from 42 countries, it is the 
largest department at Aalto University and the largest computer science 
unit in Finland. Computer science research at Aalto University ranks 
high in several prominent surveys (3rd in Europe and 33rd worldwide in 
the U.S. News Best Global Universities subject ranking 2020; 47th 
worldwide in Shanghai subject ranking 2019; and 56th worldwide in Times 
Higher Education subject ranking 2020).

'Apply now!'). Applications will close on January 12, 2020 at 23:59 EET 
(UTC+2). The application material must be in English and must include 
the following attachments in PDF format:

     1. cover letter including a summary of merits and most important 
achievements,
     2. curriculum vitae (recommended length at most two pages),
     3. research statement (recommended length at most four pages),
     4. teaching statement (recommended length at most four pages),
     5. names, positions, affiliation(s) and e-mail addresses of five 
referees available to provide recommendations for short-listed candidates,
     6. list of publications with a maximum of five most important 
publications clearly highlighted.
