Applications are invited for one of three Norbert Wiener
Assistant Professorships in the Department of Mathematics at
Tufts University. This is a non-tenure-track assistant
professorship, beginning in September of 2020. The initial contract is
for one year and is renewable for up to two more years. Applicants are
expected to have completed their doctorate degree in mathematics or a
closely related field at the time of hire.

We seek candidates with experience in applied dynamical systems and
applied probability theory, as well as in mathematical and computational
modeling. It is expected that the successful candidate will join the
research group of Professor Boghosian, will additionally interact with
Professor Borgers, and will work with and help advise graduate and
undergraduate students working with these faculty members. The research
involves kinetic theory, agent-based models of social systems, and
mathematical models of economics. While interest and experience in
problems of economics is desirable, it is not essential. Evidence of
teaching excellence is required.

Applications should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a research
statement, and a teaching statement, all of which should be submitted
electronically at https://www.mathjobs.org/jobs/jobs/14997. Applicants
should also arrange for three letters of recommendation to be
submitted electronically on their behalf through
https://www.mathjobs.org/jobs/jobs/14997. If a recommender cannot submit
online, we will also accept signed PDF attachments sent to
Wiener20 at tufts.edu <mailto:Wiener20 at tufts.edu> or paper letters mailed
to Wiener 2020 DS Search Committee Chair, Department of Mathematics, 503
Boston Avenue, Tufts University, Medford, MA 02155. Review of
applications will begin on December 1, 2019, and will continue until the
position is filled. Tufts University is an Affirmative Action / Equal
Opportunity employer. We are committed to increasing the diversity of
our faculty. Members of underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged
to apply.
