The DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATICS AT THE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF MUNICH 
(TUM) invites applications for the position of Tenure Track Assistant 
Professor in

» DECISION ANALYTICS & OPTIMIZATION «

to begin in summer semester 2020 on October 1st, 2020 the latest. The 
position is a W2 fixed-term position (6 years) with tenure track to a 
tenured W3 position (Associate Professor).

SCIENTIFIC ENVIRONMENT

The professorship belongs to the TUM Department of Informatics.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the 
promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in 
the research area of Decision Analytics & Optimization with a focus on 
topics such as computational logistics, data-driven optimization, 
revenue management, predictive and prescriptive analytics. The teaching 
load includes courses in the university's bachelor and master programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a candidate who has demonstrated initial scientific 
achievements and the capacity for independent research at the highest 
international standards. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral 
degree or equivalent scientific qualification as well as pedagogical 
aptitude, including the ability to teach in English, are also 
prerequisites. Research experience abroad is expected.
