The Eisenberg Family Depression Center seeks applicants for open rank 
named Professorships, as well as Early Career Professorships for 
candidates with a recent Ph.D. We are searching for at least one 
professorship to hold an appointment (including tenure if appropriate) 
at the University of Michigan's Mathematics department. Candidates 
should hold a Ph.D. in mathematics or a related field, and demonstrate a 
commitment to future research in Depression. Possible research areas 
include precision mental health, digital technology, data science, and 
prevention of mental health problems, but any area of pure or applied 
mathematics with the potential to impact depression is within scope.

The Eisenberg Family Depression Center, established in 2001, is the 
first of its kind devoted entirely to bringing depression into the 
mainstream of medical research, translational care, education, and 
public policy. The Center aims to catalyze interdisciplinary, 
data-intensive collaborations that produce high-impact advances and 
rapidly translate advances to improve the mental health and quality of 
life for individuals suffering, their families, and communities. The 
Center is partnering with various Departments to recruit several faculty 
positions, including four named professorships, as well as early career 
professorships. The Center is eagerly soliciting faculty applications 
from highly competitive candidates at assistant, associate, and full 
professor levels. Specific areas of focus include precision mental 
health, digital technology, data science, and prevention of mental 
health problems; but, all work with the potential to impact depression 
is within scope. The successful applicant will join a vibrant, 150+ 
community of faculty across Departments who are passionate about 
depression and bipolar research and care. Department for this include, 
but are not limited to Anesthesiology, Biostatistics, Computational 
Medicine and Bioinformatics, Epidemiology, Internal Medicine and its 
subspecialties, Mathematics, Neurology, Psychiatry, and Psychology.

*Required Qualifications:*

  * Ph.D. and/or M.D.
  * Evidence of superlative scientific accomplishment and scholarly promise
  * Depending on the field, evidence of teaching excellence

Candidates will be evaluated on a rolling basis beginning October 15, 
2021 and until all positions are filled.  Nominations, applications, and

departmental affiliation(s) will be determined by the applicant's 
qualifications and preferences, and by relevance of the applicant's 
research program to departmental initiatives and themes.
