The Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering

applications for one full-time tenure stream faculty position in the 
area of Operations Research. The appointment will be at the rank of 
Assistant Professor, with an expected start date of July 1, 2023, or 
shortly thereafter.

Candidates must have a PhD in Industrial Engineering, Operations 
Research, Computer Science, or a related discipline by the date of 
appointment or shortly thereafter, with a demonstrated record of 
excellence in research and teaching. We seek candidates who demonstrate 
research excellence in Operations Research and whose research and 
teaching interests complement and strengthen our existing departmental 
strengths

Candidates with a strong research record in stochastic Operations 
Research are particularly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate 
will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research at the 
highest international level and to establish an outstanding, 
competitive, and externally funded research program. It is preferred 
that candidates have an undergraduate degree in engineering and be 
eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer.

Applicants must provide evidence of excellence in research, which can be 
demonstrated by a record of published papers in top-ranked and field 
relevant journals, or a research pipeline that is at high international 
levels, the submitted research statement, and strong letters of 
reference from referees of high standing. Further evidence of research 
excellence can be demonstrated by participation in top conferences and 
presenting research at other highly ranked schools.

Excellence in teaching will be demonstrated by strong endorsements from 
referees and the teaching dossier submitted as part of the application, 
including a strong statement of teaching philosophy, sample course 
materials, and excellent teaching evaluations.
