One of five academic domains in the School, Technology and Innovation

computational topics including computational intelligence, data science, 
and information security.

This Assistant Professor role initially includes responsibility, as part 
of academic duties, for academic program coordination of the following 
programs: Computers and Information Technology and Full-Stack JavaScript 
Web Development.

Position Description:

We seek applications from candidates who have education, training, 
teaching, and professional experience in computer science with a 
specialization in one or more of the following areas: software 
development and digital user experience, especially for the web and 
mobile devices.

This is a full-time, ranked academic, non-tenure stream (Contract 
Academic Staff) position with an initial appointment of three (3) years, 
based at McGill?s downtown campus in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The 
successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Academic 
Domain Director of Technology and Innovation. Hiring is dependent upon 
budgetary and university approvals. Ideally the individual would be able 
to start this position by 1 January, 2024.


Position Duties:

This position involves teaching and related administrative and 
supervisory responsibilities. Duties performed include (but are not 
limited to) the following:

Teach credit and/or non-credit courses in areas related to technology 
and innovation. A typical Assistant Professor course load in the School 
of Continuing Studies is the equivalent of 18 credits per year (in a 
combination of undergraduate, graduate or non-credit professional 
courses). The actual course load will depend on the scope of academic 
administrative responsibilities, externally funded research grant 
activity, and/or special projects as determined in consultation with the 
Academic Domain Director and the Dean?s Office.

Contribute to the development of courses and other offerings aligned 
with SCS, and University strategic goals;

Assume primary responsibility for maintaining the academic rigour of 
these courses, including ensuring that pedagogical methods are up to date;

Recruit and provide leadership to part-time instructors in best 
practices in teaching and learning, including holding regular 
teaching-team meetings, reviewing course evaluations of part-time Course 
Lecturers and providing feedback and guidance to individual instructors 
and students;

Work productively with other academic and administrative colleagues to 
create curricula and other programming;

Serve on Faculty and University committees and workgroups as needed and 
available;

Develop and maintain fruitful working relationships with other Faculties

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Doctoral degree in a related field.

Experience in development and teaching of courses and programs, 
preferably at the post-secondary educational level.

Extensive and current demonstrated professional experience in a field 
related to one or both of the programs.

OTHER QUALIFYING SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES:

Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an 
English-language university where day to day duties may require English

Professor Ely Porat is recruiting postdoctoral researchers and Ph.D.
Students for the theory and Algorithms Group at the Computer Science
Department of Bar-Ilan university in Ramat Gan, Israel.

The main fields of the group research are algorithms, data
structures,Pattern Matching and Streaming Algorithms.

The group is partially funded by an ERC Grant (MPM 683064) and other
competitive grants, hence, Prof. Porat can provide suitable students
with generous scholarships.

For postdoctoral researchers, we are looking for researchers in a
mature stage of their academic capabilities, with a Ph.D. degree in
Computer Science or Mathematics and with a strong publication record
in Theoretical Computer Science. Our threshold for applicants is at
least three papers accepted to top tier conferences (e.g. STOC, FOCS
or SODA).
The positions will be for at least one year (preferably two years of
advance commitment) with the possibility of extension .

For Ph.D. programs we require students with M.Sc. Degree in Computer
Science or related field which has at least one publication in an
international peer reviewed conference or journal.

For both kinds of positions (Ph.D. students and postdoctoral
researchers) there's a possibility to start at any stage of the year
(any synchronization with academic tears is not necessary).

1) Job Description:

Mines Saint-Etienne is recruiting a research associate (renewable 1-year

Short project description follows:

An instance of the Constraint Satisfaction Problem (CSP) consists of two
parts. The one part defines variables which may, for example, correspond to
tasks to be scheduled. The second part contains local restrictions on these
variables, saying, for instance, that certain tasks must take certain
amount of time or must be performed after other tasks are completed. The
question in the CSP is whether there exists a global assignment to the
variables, such that all the restrictions, usually called constraints, are
satisfied. In our running example a satisfying assignment defines an order
of performing the tasks. On the theoretical side, the formalism of CSPs
generalizes the Boolean satisfiability problem. When constraints are
modelled as relations over a finite domain, the CSP is always in NP.
However, depending on the allowed set of relations, the CSP might be
NP-complete (i.e., practically unsolvable by known algorithm) or in P
(i.e., ?efficiently? solvable). This ?dichotomy? is obtained using, so
called, algebraic approach to the CSP. The algebraic approach is a
direction of research based on a deep connection between two involved
mathematical theories: universal algebra and computational complexity.
Unfortunately, even the simplest scheduling problem requires considering
relations over an infinite domain. The aim of this project is to make a
next step beyond the finite-domain CSP and consider a larger class of
problems, including some infinite-domain CSPs. The problems that can be
modelled in such an extended framework involve scheduling, but also
problems in spatial and temporal reasoning and many other areas. The class
of problems is extended and thus the theories must follow suit: the new
research builds on computational complexity, universal algebra, and this
time model theory as well as Ramsey theory.

Experience or good knowledge with some or all of the following areas is 
highly desirable: numerical and applied analysis of partial differential 
equations (PDEs)/stochastic PDEs, stochastic processes, and physics, 
especially fluid dynamics and statistical physics.

The post offers a unique opportunity to be part of a world-class

A 3-year post-doctoral position is available to develop tools for 
analyzing chaotic time series using generative machine learning. Our 
curiosity-driven research group is broadly interested in computational 
approaches to understanding natural systems, such as:

+ Density estimation algorithms for turbulent attractors
+ Generative forecasting models for biomedical time series
+ Physics-based reinforcement learning algorithms for controlling chaos

Nonlinear Dynamics within UT Austin?s physics department. We are 
affiliated with the interdisciplinary Oden Institute for Computational
