We invite applications for a faculty position at the rank of an assistant professor in the area of theoretical computer science. The expected starting date is September 1, 2024, and it is negotiable.

We are looking for candidates that would complement and/or strengthen existing research areas in our institute. Strong candidates from all areas of theoretical computer science will be considered. A successful candidate is expected to pursue an active research program, teach advanced and introductory classes (in English or Czech) and possibly supervise undergraduate and graduate students. Candidates are expected to have a proven international research record and significant experience abroad (Ph.D. studies or postdoctoral fellowship). A Ph.D. in computer science or a closely related field is required at the time of starting the contract. The contract duration is three years. Potentially, the position is renewable. This is a tenure-track position, a habilitation (associate professor promotion) and a permanent position is a standard possibility (subject to a separate review process).

In justified cases, e.g., if the applicant completes his doctoral studies in the period between the submission of the application and the date of starting the employment relationship, the applicant must provide proof of the completed doctoral studies before signing the employment contract, but no later than 9 months after the application deadline.
