[Job-offers-cs] Postdoctoral Appointee – Numerical Optimization and Theory for Quantum Networks, Argonne National Laboratory

The Mathematics and Computer Science division at Argonne National 
Laboratory seeks well-prepared candidates for a postdoctoral position in 
the study of quantum networks.

In this role you will develop, analyze, and implement numerical 
algorithms for entanglement purification and distillation protocols, 
error-correction and error-detection algorithms, and entanglement 
quantification for different quantum network architectures. You also 
work on quantum variational algorithms to be run on near-term quantum 
devices.

Research will be performed in close collaboration with leading 
scientists in applied mathematics and computer science. Researchers will 
have access to cutting-edge extreme-scale computing facilities. Argonne 
provides a collaborative, open-science environment where scientists from 
various disciplines are engaged in solving challenging fundamental and 
practical problems. We seek diversity in backgrounds, experiences, and 
perspectives.
