The Operations and Logistics Division of the Sauder School of Business
at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver Campus) invites
applications for up to three tenure-track faculty positions in
operations research including mathematical optimization, operations
management and transportation. Although preference will be given to
applications at the Assistant Professor rank, we will also consider
applications at the Associate and Full Professor ranks. Applicants must
have a record of research commensurate with the rank and a demonstrated
successful experience in teaching. Senior-level candidates should have
accomplished excellence in research in operations research including
mathematical optimization, operations management or transportation.
Entry-level candidates should demonstrate an interest in and potential
to conduct high-quality research in these fields and be very close to
completing or have completed a Ph.D. in a relevant area such as
operations research, operations management, engineering, applied
mathematics, statistics, computer science, or other related areas. The
successful candidate will be appointed at the rank appropriate to their
qualification and experience.
Duties include developing and maintaining an active research program
aimed at making a significant contribution to the profession, teaching
in the undergraduate, master’s and Ph.D. programs, supervising Ph.D.
students, as well as contributing to other teaching and administrative
initiatives of the Operations and Logistics Division and the UBC Sauder
School of Business. Candidates at the senior level will be expected to
provide leadership to enhance the reputation of the Operations and
Logistics Division and the School. Teaching and service requirements are
similar to other research-intensive universities.

2. Curriculum vitae
3. Research papers (recently published research papers or current
working papers)
4. Teaching dossier or record of teaching effectiveness, if applicable
5. Three letters of reference (Four for the associate and full professor
rank). They may be included as part of the application package or may be
submitted separately by the letter writers to ensure confidentiality.
Subject to budgetary approval, the position starts on July 1, 2025.
