Hello Everyone,

This message is to let you know about a Postdoctoral Position in
Optimization
and Stochastic Programming at the George Washington University, Washington,
DC.

We are looking for a talented postdoctoral researcher whose
responsibilities would primarily include the research and development of
algorithmic solutions and their coding for stochastic, distributionally
robust, and mixed-integer nonlinear optimization problems. The postdoctoral
researcher will have the opportunity to develop models and design
algorithms to exciting application areas, such as resilience to wildfires,
operations and safety of energy networks, and utilization of mobile power
sources for disaster resilience.

We are looking for candidates with experience and interest in:

- Development of reformulation and algorithmic methods for optimization
problems, such as mixed-integer, convex, and stochastic optimization
problems.
- Coding and implementation of optimization models and algorithms in C++
and/or Python, as well as AMPL. Experience with Matlab is a plus.
- Presentation and write-up of academic papers.

The position will be in the Decision Sciences Department (Business School)
and in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (Engineering
School) at the George Washington University. The postdoctoral researcher
will work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary
team environment. This is a one-year position with (preferred) starting
date in May or June 2024. If you are interested and/or want more
