The Department of Mathematics in the College of Natural Sciences and
Mathematics invites applications from candidates working in Applied
Mathematics with Focus on Mathematical Biology or Medicine for a
tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin in August 2025.
We are interested in someone with expertise in areas identified as
critical to research at UH, including modeling, computations, and
analysis with applications in biology and medicine. Possible directions
include: stochastic analysis, PDEs and kinetic theory, probability, and
modeling and analysis of dynamics. This recruitment will also advance
our educational mission and foster closer interaction and productive
collaborations with the UH Medical School, UH Biology and
Bioengineering, the UH/HP Data Science Institute, and the larger
community in the Texas Medical Center in Houston.
The Department of Mathematics is seeking outstanding candidates with the
potential for exceptional research, excellence in teaching, and a
commitment to enhancing our university in all aspects of academic life.

Qualifications: A minimum requirement for this position is a PhD in
Mathematics, or a related field.
