[Job-offers-cs] Postdoc position at UCSB: numerical optimization for LLM, and SciML

Do you want to spend two years to investigate the frontiers of AI while 
enjoying the fantastic weather and ocean view in Santa Barbara, California?

My group has two postdoc openings in the following fields:
1. Numerical optimization for efficient training of large language 
models and edge AI. We prefer candidates with strong theoretical and 
numerical background (as shown by publications in SIAM journals or 
top-tier machine learning conferences). Candidates focused on only 
applying existing optimization algorithms to engineering problems is out 
of the scope. Experience in HPC and distributed training is a plus but 
not required.
2. Scientific machine learning (e.g., physics-informed machine learning 
and data-efficient uncertainty quantification) for 3D integrated 
circuits and chiplet design. We prefer candidates with strong background 
in numerical modeling and simulation (as shown by publications in SIAM, 
JCP, or top-tier EDA or computational EM journals/conferences).

Please note that UCSB can only accept applicants who finished their PhD 
degrees within the recent 5 years for postdoc positions.
