We have openings for **three postdoc positions** and one **research 
assistant position** as part of our research project “[Aggregating 
Safety Preferences for AI Systems: A Social Choice 
Approach](https://sites.google.com/view/sc4ai/projects/aspai funded by 
the [Advanced Research + Invention Agency 
(ARIA)](https://www.aria.org.uk/ Our project aims to develop and analyze 
new methods in computational social choice for eliciting and aggregating 
safety specifications for safeguarded AI systems.

**Postdoc positions** are available at:

* University of Warwick (Coventry, UK) with [Markus 
Brill](https://www.markus-brill.de/>* Hasso Plattner Institute (Potsdam, 
Germany) with [Niclas 
Boehmer](https://sites.google.com/view/niclas-boehmer/home>* University 
of Groningen (the Netherlands) with [Davide 
Grossi](https://davidegrossi.me/>

We seek candidates with a strong background in (computational) social 
choice, (algorithmic) game theory, and/or AI safety.

The positions are intended to begin in **October 2025** and are offered 
for one year (Warwick and Potsdam) or two years (Groningen). The 
application deadline is **June 15th, 2025**.

At Warwick, we’re also hiring a **research assistant**. This position, 
for which a PhD degree is not required, has an earlier application 
deadline of June 1st, 2025.
