The software of Untis is used in more than 25.000 schools around
the world to compute timetables. It addresses a range of
interesting combinatorial optimization problems arising in this
domain. Untis is looking for a Senior Algorithm Engineer (m/f/x)
in Stockerau near Vienna (Austria) to work on the algorithmic core
of the software.<br>
<br>
What you will be doing:<br>
- You'll work in a cross functional team to maintain and improve
our timetabling algorithms.<br>
- Analyze and document the optimization algorithms (mainly
Heuristics and Metaheuristics) in our product suite<br>
- Design and develop new algorithmic approaches to boost
performance and improve functionality<br>
- Develop maintainable software for complex timetabling problems
in Java and C++ following clean code principles<br>
- Participate in scientific conferences and keep in contact with
the scientific community<br>

What we expect from you:<br>
- MSc or PhD degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related
field<br>
- Expertise in Algorithms and Data Structures, Combinatorial
Optimization, and Operations Research<br>
- Several years of experience in research and development of
complex algorithms. Published papers in the field will be
considered favorably.<br>
- Strong experience in either Java, C++, or both<br>
- You have no problems getting your hands dirty on legacy code<br>
- Fluent English, B1 German<br>
