We are seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher to work
on
the project "Finite and Descriptive Combinatorics" funded by Oleg
Pikhurko's ERC advanced grant. This broad project focuses on the
interplay between combinatorics and other areas (descriptive set
theory, group actions, stochastic processes, distributed
computing,
etc).

One of its directions is to explore connections to LOCAL
algorithms on
bounded-degree graphs. In particular, researchers with a good
knowledge and mastery of distributed local algorithms are very
welcome
to apply (provided they are keen to learn the needed analytic
background during their work on the project).

The starting date is flexible: anytime between 1 January and 1
September 2022. This is a fixed term post for 4 years.

The deadline for application is 1 November 2021. Applications can
be
made online via this link:
https://atsv7.wcn.co.uk/search_engine/jobs.cgi?owner=5062452&ownertype=fair&jcode=1878450&vt_template=1457&adminview=1>
The application should include the following documents: CV,
research
statement, up to three of applicant’s selected papers or
pre-prints,
and between 2 to 4 letters of recommendation. Applicants should
ensure that all referees send their references by email to
MathematicsPA@warwick.ac.uk before the deadline.

Informal enquiries can be sent to: o.pikhurko@warwick.ac.uk
