      This is an outstanding opportunity for a Lecturer in Theoretical
      Computer<br>
      Science at the University of Sheffield, a world top 100
      University. You<br>
      will join our internationally respected Department of Computer
      Science.<br>

      As part of an ambitious plan for growth, the Department of
      Computer Science<br>
      is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in the broad field of Theoretical
      Computer<br>
      Science, including the design and analysis of algorithms, the
      logical and<br>
      semantic foundations of programming and hardware/software
      verification.<br>
      Researchers in the area of computational complexity, where the
      interests of<br>
      the Algorithms and Verification groups in the Department overlap,
      are<br>
      particularly encouraged to apply. Other specific areas where we
      seek<br>
      expertise include:<br>
      <br>
      - Theoretical foundations of bio-inspired optimisation<br>
      - Performance analysis of randomised search heuristics<br>
      - Theoretical foundations of AI algorithms<br>
      - Formal methods for software and hardware systems<br>
      - Verification in security and of hybrid or probabilistic systems<br>
      <br>
      You will hold a PhD in a relevant area of computer science, or
      have<br>
      equivalent experience. As a Lecturer, you will conduct research to
      the<br>
      highest standards. This will include securing research funding,
      publishing<br>
      in high impact conferences and journals, supervision of research
      students<br>
      and research project management. In addition, you will play a key
      role in<br>
      maintaining our reputation for high-quality teaching by designing,<br>
      delivering and assessing undergraduate and postgraduate level
      courses in<br>
      computer science.<br>
