The project "Colorings, cliques, and independent sets in graph
classes"<br>
(Principal Investigator: Bartosz Walczak) is offering a
postdoctoral<br>
position in the Theoretical Computer Science Department at the
Jagiellonian<br>
University in Krakow, Poland (<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.tcs.uj.edu.pl/">http://www.tcs.uj.edu.pl/</a>><br>
Period: between 6 and 12 months with a possibility of further
extension,<br>
Starting date: between March 1 and October 1, 2022,<br>
up to agreement with the Principal Investigator.<br>
<br>
The position is full-time researcher with a monthly salary of
approx. 7400<br>
PLN (which is more than enough for comfortable life in Krakow),
with no<br>
teaching obligations, and with a generous travel budget.<br>
<br>
The project concerns chi-boundedness, polynomial chi-boundedness,<br>
Erdos-Hajnal property, and complexity of computational problems in
graphs<br>
classes, with particular focus on geometric intersection graphs
and graphs<br>
with excluded induced subgraphs. A detailed description of the
project is<br>
available on request. Apart from the PI, the Jagiellonian
University in<br>
Krakow hosts an active group of researchers in graph theory
including Piotr<br>
Micek, Andrzej Grzesik, Tomasz Krawczyk, Jakub Kozik, and a very
strong<br>
group of students.<br>
<br>
The candidate is expected to hold a PhD degree in mathematics or
computer<br>
science by the time of employment, awarded no earlier than in
2015, and to<br>
have an excellent background in graph theory.<br>
<br>
The application should include Curriculum Vitae that:<br>
* presents an overview of the background and scientific
achievements of the<br>
candidate;<br>
* lists all the candidate's research works (including not yet
published<br>
manuscripts);<br>
* lists two or three experienced researchers that may serve as
references<br>
for the candidate.<br>
<br>
Please submit the application or any further inquiries to:<br>
Bartosz Walczak (<a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="mailto:bartosz.walczak@uj.edu.pl">bartosz.walczak@uj.edu.pl</a>).<br>
<br>
The candidates are encouraged to apply at their earliest
convenience.<br>
Application deadline: January 31, 2022.<br>
