The Department of Statistics at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid
(UC3M), in<br>
Spain, invites applications for up to three full-time positions,
either at<br>
the tenure-track Assistant Professor (up to two positions) or the<br>
(non-tenure track) Postdoctoral level, depending on
qualifications. The<br>
positions will start on September 1, 2022.<br>
<br>
Job requirements include:<br>
<br>
- An excellent track record of research experience in any of the
areas of<br>
the Department (Econometrics, Operations Research, Probability and<br>
Statistics), reflected in high-quality internationally refereed<br>
publications.<br>
<br>
- A PhD in related fields by the expected start date.<br>
<br>
- Demonstrated high-quality teaching experience and/or proven
didactic<br>
skills.<br>
<br>
- Excellent proficiency in English (written and verbal, as faculty
are<br>
expected to teach courses in English, both at the undergraduate
and<br>
graduate levels).<br>
<br>
Conditions of employment include:<br>
<br>
- For the Assistant Professor (tenure-track) positions, a contract<br>
renewable up to a total of eight years, subject to a positive
initial<br>
evaluation in the second year, after which the candidate would
enter the<br>
UC3M 4+2 Program (six additional years, subject to a positive
evaluation in<br>
the third year), with the prospect of becoming a tenured Associate<br>
Professor (Profesor Titular), in compliance with Spanish and
University<br>
regulations. The salary corresponds to that of a Profesor Titular
in public<br>
Spanish universities.<br>

- For the Postdoctoral (non-tenure track) positions, a contract
for one<br>
year renewable up to a total of three years, with the possibility
of moving<br>
to a tenure-track position depending on academic performance. The
salary<br>
corresponds to that of an Assistant Professor (Ayudante Doctor) in
public<br>
Spanish universities.<br>

research-oriented public Spanish university. The Department of
Statistics<br>
(see <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.uc3m.es/statistics">http://www.uc3m.es/statistics</a> which has about 35 full-time
faculty members<br>
with a broad variety of research interests, within Statistics,
Econometrics<br>
and Operations Research, is committed to excellent standards in
teaching<br>
and research. The Department is involved in teaching Statistics,<br>
Econometrics and Operations Research related courses in most
undergraduate<br>
degrees offered by UC3M, spanning the Schools of Engineering,
Social<br>
Sciences, and Humanities. The Department participates as well in
several<br>
postgraduate programs, especially the Master in Statistics for
Data Science<br>
and the Master in Big Data Analytics, and in a PhD program. A
large share<br>
of courses are taught in English.<br>
