Open position at Linköping University and ELLIIT, Sweden:
Assistant professor in optimization, with very generous conditions
for research.<br>
<br>
Area: Discrete optimization to improve mathematical models and
methods for decision-making under uncertainty.<br>
<br>
In short:<br>
· At the Department of Mathematics at Linköping University and
part of the very strong research environment ELLIIT
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://elliit.se/">https://elliit.se/</a>>· Funding for research 80% of full time for
at least 5 years, free to choose projects within the scope of the
position (see the vacancy announcement)<br>
· Teaching (and/or administrative duties) for 20% of full time<br>
· The position will become permanent after 5 years (unless duties
are neglected)<br>
· There are career paths all the way to Full Professor within the
university<br>
Scientific skills that are of specific value for this position are
experiences in: · development of exact and heuristic methods for
solving discrete optimization problems;<br>
· mathematical models and methods for optimization under
uncertainty, including experiences from frameworks such as
stochastic programming, robust optimization, and distributionally
robust optimization;<br>
· machine learning for optimization;<br>
· application of optimization under uncertainty to solve
practically relevant problems within e.g. transportation,
logistics, and healthcare;<br>
· optimization for decision-making in AI.<br>
In addition to the above skills, it is desirable with experiences
in or a clear vision for how to contribute to sustainable
development, both through research and teaching.<br>
