Dear community,<br>

in July we start a new research center, the<br>
<br>
Josef Ressel Center for<br>
Intelligent and Secure Industrial Automation<br>
<br>
at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences.<br>
<br>
This research center will work on three research fields, namely<br>
software/system architectures, artificial intelligence and
security,<br>
each in the context of industrial control systems (operational<br>
technology, OT). Within each field we will have a PostDoc, a
PreDoc and<br>
constantly two Master students. Related to this research center,
we also<br>
establish a new professorship.<br>

| We have currently three positions open: |<br>
| - PostDoc in the field of artificial intelligence, machine |<br>
| learning, or data science. |<br>
| - PreDoc in the field of cyber security, information security, |<br>
| network security or OT security. |<br>
| - Professor within mechatronics, robotics or industrial |<br>
| automation. |<br>

The three research fields are strongly interconnected, the
research is<br>
interdisciplinary, and therefore the profile we are looking for is<br>
rather broad.<br>
<br>
<br>
Exemplary research activities address:<br>
<br>
- Investigation of models of state space trajectories of
industrial<br>
machines and processes, structure-preserving (e.g., homology)<br>
dimensionality reduction, time series analysis (maybe based on<br>
persistent homology) towards anomaly detection.<br>
- OPC UA information modeling and semantic technologies in context<br>
of anomaly detection, supervision and control of machines.<br>
- Behavior-driven anomaly detection and generative machine
learning<br>
methods based on state space trajectories, e.g. for a honey pot<br>
design in security.<br>
- Leveraging model-driven methods (MDD, MOF) and model<br>
transformation techniques for machine learning and digital twins<br>
to establish machine agnosticity.<br>
- Big data/machine learning architectures and security
architectures<br>
in an industrial context.<br>
