From now on the following 5 positions are vacant in the
Optimization Research Group of the Department of Mathematics at
the TU Kaiserslautern:<br>
<br>
<br>
• Position 1: Optimization of Traffic Modes. What should a
mobility service for a city look like so that everyone can reach
their destination efficiently, without traffic jams, safely and in
an environmentally friendly way? We are working on this as part of
a project that has just been approved and that is supported by the
Federal Ministry of Education and Research.<br>
<br>
• Position 2: Optimization in Public Transport. Also we are
looking for a PostDoc to coordinate the numerous projects of our
working group about public transport, to supervise internships in
the fields of traffic and to further develop our open source
software LinTim (<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://www.lintim.net/">https://www.lintim.net/</a>><br>
• Position 3: Optimization and Quantum Computing. What
optimization algorithms exist on quantum computers? What is the
best way to impart this in teaching? As part of the project
„QuanTUK“, supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and
Research, we are developing an interdisciplinary distance learning
course in quantum technologies together with a consortium from
physics, computer science and electrical engineering.<br>
<br>
• Position 4: Optimization in Processor Design. As part of an
interdisciplinary consortium funded by the Carl Zeiss Foundation,
we would like to apply methods of discrete and multi-objective
optimization to optimize processors in an integrated way. Many
completely new and exciting problems can be mathematically modeled
and optimized here!<br>
<br>
• Position 5: Optimization to support Crisis Areas. This position
concerns research and teaching. Research involves robust and
dynamic optimization for logistics in natural disasters (such as
earthquakes or floods). Teaching tasks include support in
tutorials, seminars and lectures.<br>
<br>
<br>
We look forward to receiving your convincing application (CV,
certificates etc.) by 15.08.2022 at the latest, indicating which
of the 5 positions you would like to apply for (position 1, 2, 3,
4 or 5).<br>
