The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Wesleyan
University<br>
invites applications for a tenure track assistant professorship in
Computer<br>
Science to begin July 1, 2023. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in
Computer<br>
Science or a related field in hand by the time of appointment to
be hired<br>
as an Assistant Professor; a successful candidate may be hired as
an<br>
Instructor if the candidate does not have a Ph.D. in hand at the
time of<br>
appointment, but will complete the Ph.D. in Computer Science or a
related<br>
field within one year of hire. We encourage candidates in all
areas of<br>
Computer Science to apply, including those who deepen or broaden
our<br>
existing research strengths, and especially encourage candidates
who can<br>
contribute to the diversity (broadly conceived) of the department.
Theory,<br>
programming languages, algorithms, network science, networking,
and privacy<br>
and security are well-represented in the department.<br>
<br>
Duties include conducting an independent program of research,
teaching,<br>
advising and mentoring students, and participating in faculty
governance at<br>
the departmental and university level. Tenure track faculty in
Computer<br>
Science at Wesleyan teach three courses per year. Wesleyan values
both<br>
research and teaching very highly, has a strong, diverse student
body, and<br>
offers a substantial startup package, a generous sabbatical
program, and<br>
competitive salaries and benefits.<br>

research<br>
statement, and teaching statement. Applicants must also have three
letters<br>
of recommendation, at least one of which discusses teaching,
submitted by<br>

commitment to fostering an inclusive community, as well as their
experience<br>
working with individuals from historically marginalized or
underserved<br>
