The Department of Computer Science in the Swenson College of
Science<br>
and Engineering at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD)
invites<br>
applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor that will
begin on<br>
August 21, 2023. This is a full time, 9 month position. The
successful<br>
candidate will establish an independent, externally funded
research<br>
program, which includes mentorship of undergraduates and graduate<br>
students. The area of research specialization for this position is<br>
open and all areas are encouraged to apply. We do have specific
needs<br>
to strengthen our computer security, computer science education,
and<br>
computer systems areas. Additionally, our department is interested
in<br>
supporting research scholars whose research contributes to
diversity,<br>
inclusivity, and equity. The successful candidate will have
teaching<br>
responsibilities in our lecture and laboratory courses. They will
also<br>
contribute to graduate and undergraduate teaching, advising, and<br>
mentoring, while supporting diversity and inclusion and a
commitment<br>
to justice. Service to the Department, College, and University is
also<br>
expected. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in computer science or a<br>
related discipline by July 1, 2023. Experience with effective and<br>
innovative teaching methods, such as active learning, is<br>

university within the U of M system. UMD is a comprehensive

Superior. The Duluth campus is affiliated with the University of<br>
Minnesota College of Pharmacy and School of Medicine, and is home
