The University of Calabria is publishing a comparative evaluation
procedure<br>
for the recruitment of a fixed-term researcher (RTD-A: fixed-term<br>
three-year position with a full-time employment contract pursuant
to art.<br>
24 paragraph 3 letter a) of Law no. 240/2010). The research will
be part<br>
the project "Future Artificial Intelligence Research - FAIR"
(PE0000013<br>
identification code), SPOKE 9: GREEN-AWARE AI, approved by the MUR
with<br>
Concession Decree no. 1555 of 11 October 2022.<br>
<br>
Brief description of the project: The activity will be focused on
the<br>
development of advanced models, integrating of artificial
intelligence<br>
and operations research techniques for Energy Storage Management.
The<br>
primary objective of the research activity is to develop
comprehensive<br>
models for the optimization of integrated Battery Energy Storage
Systems<br>
(BESSs), to determine the most efficient operation of a BESS,
while<br>
considering different constraints and pursuing various objectives,
such as<br>
economic, environmental, and social goals. The project comprises
three<br>
primary research activities. The first one focuses on the use of
AI<br>
techniques for prediction. The second activity refers to the
design of a<br>
decision support system integrating AI and optimization models for
the BESS<br>
optimal management. The third activity refers to the design of an
AI-based<br>
model for the predictive control of a distributed BESS.<br>
<br>
Professional and Personal Requirements:<br>
<br>
- Ph.D. in Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics,
Industrial<br>
Engineering, or related fields.<br>
<br>
- Ability in implementing and validating optimization and
artificial<br>
intelligence algorithms in Python (or comparable programming
languages).<br>
<br>
- An interest in tackling practical and relevant research
challenges.<br>
<br>
- Good oral and written English level.<br>
