<div><b>Tenure Track Professorship (W1 with Tenure Track to W3) in
Mathematical Data Science and Optimization (f/m/d)</b><br>
<br>
The research interests of a successful applicant should strengthen
the Institute for Mathematics in the area of Mathematical Data
Science, Optimization and Numerical Analysis and contribute to the
university's strategic initiative "Science-Based Machine Learning"
in fundamental aspects.<br>
<br>
We are looking for a mathematician with a clear, mathematically
innovative research perspective in the area of Machine Learning
and/or Data Science, and a developing track record in Optimization
or another relevant core area of applied mathematics.<br>
<br>
•<span> </span>Applicants are expected to have an excellent
publication and research record.<br>
•<span> </span>Active engagement within the Interdisciplinary
Center for Scientific Computing (IWR), the Carl-Zeiss-Center for
Model-Based Artificial Intelligence, as well as the DFG Cluster of
Excellence STRUCTURES is highly desirable.<br>
•<span> </span>Participation in the administrative tasks of the
institute and the faculty is expected, as well teaching at all
levels. This includes especially the planned Masters program
"Mathematics of Machine Learning and Data Science", but also
foundational mathematics modules.<br>
