at RWTH Aachen University invites applications for a Junior
Professorship (W1) in<br>

Algorithmic Discrete Mathematics and Algorithmic Game Theory<br>

to be filled as soon as possible. The appointment will be for
three years (with the possibility for further three years after
positive evaluation).<br>

Algorithmic Discrete Mathematics and Algorithmic Game Theory play
a key role as a connecting link between Mathematics, Computer
Science, Operations Research, and various applications in economy
and industry. The algorithmic and optimization group at RWTH
Aachen spans a wide range of areas, including mathematical
programming, graph theory and algorithms, discrete optimization,
optimization under uncertainty, submodular function optimization,
and more. As a new faculty member, you strengthen the research and
teaching in one or more of these existing areas and/or you may
expand the research and teaching portfolio.<br>

We are seeking a motivated, internationally highly recognised
person with a doctoral degree in Mathematics, Computer Science,
Operations Research or a comparable domain. We expect<br>
<br>
* the ability to conduct high-quality academic research reflected
in peer-reviewed highly ranged publications<br>
* high engagement in academic teaching<br>
* strong cooperation skills and ability to work in
interdisciplinary teams<br>
* effective communication and leadership skills<br>
* excellent (written and verbal) proficiency in English<br>
* participation in academic self-administration<br>

This position is also available on a part-time basis per request.<br>
