<p><span>The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the
University of New Mexico seeks a postdoctoral fellow with
research experience in mathematical biology, preferably using
theoretical and numerical approaches to understand mechanisms in
biological systems. This appointment may be renewed for
additional periods after one year as long as grant funding is
available. </span></p>
<p><span>The successful candidate will work under the supervision of
Dr. Anna Nelson and will be able to continue their current
research projects while also engaging in collaborative work with
neuroscientists and neurobiologists. You will also be working
with scientists from other STEM departments at UNM, with
mentorship guidance on cross-discipline collaboration. Your
office space will be at UNM, where you will also have time to
pursue your own research interests related to mathematical
biology. </span></p>
<p><span>This position has no teaching responsibilities, but there
is an opportunity to teach if desired. The preferred starting
date is in August 2025. Review of applications will commence on <strong>March
