<p>The University of Utah has openings for cluster hires in areas
focusing on AI for environmental resilience. Applications are
solicited for the following positions:<br>

These positions are aimed at candidates that investigate (a)
exploit emerging datasets to advance environmental and Earth
system modeling, forecasting, and projection using
state-of-the-art computational approaches such as machine vision,
digital twins, AI, uncertainty quantification, data assimilation,
or fusion techniques, with the goal of improving forecasts,
hindcasts and future projections of environmental change, (b)
development and/or assessment of environmental monitoring, such as
data collection and analysis related to air, water, climate, and
pollution at scales from molecular to ecosystem; as well as
monitoring impacts of AI on the environment (data centers, energy
usage, critical minerals, etc.).<br>

The University of Utah, under the leadership of the One-Utah
Responsible AI Initiative (One-U RAI, <a title="https://rai.utah.edu), is building a new group to address a broad range of environmental challenges and opportunities created
by AI by leveraging, integrating and enhancing existing strengths in earth and environmental science, biological science, social science, modeling and computation. These cluster hire positions entail a research appointment in the SCI Institute (https://sci.utah.edu/),">rai.utah.edu),
