on the Kuopio campus. The position will be filled as from 1

</span><span><br>
</span></strong></span>The field of research and teaching of
the Assistant/Associate Professor (Tenure Track) is Scientific
Computing in Computational Engineering. The field of research
includes, e.g., scientific computing, large-scale simulation,
signal and image processing, time-series analysis, optimization
and control, computational inverse problems, and artificial
intelligence methodologies. The field of teaching is
computational engineering, including both methodological and
applied themes related to research.<span><br>
</span><span><br>
</span>The duties include conducting, developing and leading
research in the field and related national and international
education. The position also involves responsibility for
scientific postgraduate education in accordance with the job
title. The Assistant/Associate Professor (Tenure Track) will be
responsible for the acquisition of external funding and for
international research cooperation and networking in the field.
The post also includes societal expert and interaction
activities.<span><br>

</span>The post of Assistant/Associate Professor (Tenure Track)
will be filled for a fixed four-year term starting on 1 April
2026 (or as agreed). The position is filled for a fixed term due
to it being a fixed-term research and teaching position (Tenure
Track). A probationary period is applied to all new members of
the staff.<span><br>
</span><span><br>
</span>The criteria, goals and results to be achieved during the
term in order to proceed to the next level of the Tenure Track
will be agreed upon in detail with the person appointed as
Assistant/Associate Professor when signing the contract of
employment. Meeting the criteria specified in the contract is a
requirement for proceeding to the next level of the Tenure
Track. At the end of the term, the achievements of the person
will be evaluated to determine whether they can proceed to the
next level of the Tenure Track: from Assistant Professor to
Associate Professor, or from Associate Professor to Professor.<span><br>

</span>External expert evaluation will be used in the
recruitment. Expert statements are part of the overall
evaluation process. Interviews related to the filling of the
position will be arranged separately.<span><br>
</span><span><br>
</span>The salary of the position is determined in accordance
with the salary system for the teaching and research staff of
Finnish universities. In the case of an Associate Professor
(Tenure Track), the salary is based on level 7 of the job
requirement level chart (EUR 4.428,24 /month) of the salary
system for the teaching and research staff of Finnish
universities and in the case of an Assistant Professor (Tenure
Track), on level 6 of the job requirement level chart (EUR
3.841,13 /month). In addition to the job-related salary element,
the salary is supplemented with a personal salary element, which
can be a maximum of 50% of the job-related salary element.<span><br>

positions with the term lasting for four (4) years. The
evaluation will be launched no later than six months
before the end of the term, unless otherwise has been

submitted by the applicant. The evaluation of teaching skills
