            </span></em></span>The professorship is located at the
        Department of Computational Engineering (CopE) of the LUT School
        of Engineering Sciences. CopE's research is multidisciplinary
        and focuses on applied mathematics, computer vision and pattern
        recognition, atmospheric modelling, and computational
        spectroscopy. We focus on in-depth understanding of data and
        related algorithms, data analysis, and machine learning. Our
        cross-cutting theme is machine learning-enhanced computational
        engineering.<span><br>

        methodologies and solutions in a vibrant academic environment.
        One of the position’s key objectives is to set up a research
        group and provide expertise in the field of computer vision.

        successful acquisition of competitive research funding. The role
        includes teaching at both basic and advanced levels, supervising
        final theses and doctoral dissertations, and participating in

            </span></strong></span>To succeed in this role, you’ll need
        solid experience in computer vision and an established track
        record of high-quality international research and publications.
        You have experience in leading a research group or unit and
        obtaining competitive funding. You have collaborated actively
        with international partners (e.g., joint publications, research
        visits), and you possess the skills for academic leadership and
        project management.<span><br>

        </span>Practical experience in the field is not a requirement in
        this position, but it’s considered an advantage. Spoken and
        written fluency in English is required.<span><br>

        computational science and focus on research that impacts

            </span></strong></span>The professorship is situated at the
        associate or full professor level of our tenure track system and
        will be filled through an open application process for a fixed
        term of four years (associate professor) or permanently (full
        professor). The work will start with a six-month trial period.
        The professorship will be located in Lappeenranta, a city that
        offers both a high quality of life and a welcoming academic
        community.<span><br>

        </span>The salary is set according to the pay scale for
        university teaching and research personnel and includes an
        individual pay component based on performance and competence.
        The gross annual salary for an associate professor is
        approximately 68,000 euros, and for a full professor, it ranges
        from 70,000 to 104,800 euros, depending on qualifications and
        experience.<span><br>
