</strong><strong>Chief Design Engineer, Algorithms & AI
</strong><strong>to work in Ponsse Technology, R&D, Control
systems team in Finland.

seeking an experienced and innovative<span class="_41d62584"> </span><strong>Chief
Design Engineer, Algorithm & AI</strong><span class="_41d62584"> </span>to lead our algorithm development
and AI initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to solve
the unique challenges of one of the most advanced work machines
throughout the industries.<br>

We are looking for a visionary and technically proficient Chief
Design Engineer to oversee the development, optimization and
implementation of our algorithms together with integrating AI
solutions.<br>
<br>
You will drive a team of talented engineers, collaborate with
other teams across R&D organization and guide the strategic
direction of integrating AI and machine learning technologies
within the Ponsse R&D/Control Systems. The ideal candidate
will have a deep understanding of robotics, control system
design, foundation knowledge of AI/ML principles and life cycle,
a proven track record of leadership in research and development
and a passion for innovation.<br>

<strong>Key Responsibilities
</strong></span></p>

<li>Lead the design and development of advanced algorithms to
solve complex challenges that bring the most value to our
customers. </li>
<li>Provide technical direction and mentorship to a team of
software and machine control engineers. The position includes a
product owner role in scrum framework. </li>
<li>Oversee the end-to-end process of AI model development, from
research and prototype to deployment and optimization. </li>
<li>Insight for creating technology and solution roadmap for
Algorithm and AI development. </li>
<li>Collaborate with product management and other engineering
teams to align initiatives with business objectives. </li>
<li>Follow the latest developments in machine automation
algorithms and machine learning. </li>
</ul>
<strong>What do we expect from you? </strong>
<ul class="_60b7eb85 cd3d38cb">
<li>Master’s or PhD in computer science, control engineering,
mathematics or a related field. </li>
<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability
to think strategically and make data-driven decisions. Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills (in English or Finnish)
to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across the
organization. </li>
<li>Proven experience with at least 5 years in a leadership or
senior engineering role in software development. </li>
<li>Good understanding of control system design and potential
AI/ML applications in robotics control. </li>
<li>Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, C#
or similar, with knowledge in AI/ML libraries and frameworks
(TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.). Experience in Matlab/Simulink
environment is valued. </li>
<li>Experience in cloud technologies, big data platforms and
distributed computing is a plus. </li>
<li>Knowledge of ROS2 and simulation tools is a plus. </li>
