Postdoctoral Research Position in Optimization at Lehigh University

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering of Lehigh
University is interested in hiring a postdoctoral researcher for one
year in Continuous Optimization for Data Analysis and Machine Learning.
The project will focus on the development of scalable methods for
large-scale problems using novel decomposition and randomized
techniques. The researcher will integrate the Optimization and Machine
Learning Research Group at Lehigh (http://optml.lehigh.edu). The
starting date is negotiable (within the next 6-12 months).

A successful candidate will hold a PhD in Optimization, Industrial
Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or other field
related to the project by the starting date. Additional desired
attributes include the following: (1) experience in the design,
analysis, and implementation of optimization algorithms, especially
stochastic, nonsmooth or derivative-free methods; (2) experience using
and/or implementing numerical optimization software; and (3) excellent
communication skills.

Expressions of interest should be sent to Luis Nunes Vicente
(luisnunesvicente at gmail.com): (1) a cover letter describing their
experience and research interests as they relate to the project, (2) a
CV that includes a list of publications, and (3) contact information
(i.e., name, position, e-mail address, and phone number) of at least two
references with knowledge of the applicant's knowledge and experience.
