Technische Universitaet Berlin - Faculty IV (EECS)

As part of the federal and state program for the advancement of junior 
scholars, Technische Universitaet Berlin - Faculty IV - Electrical 
Engineering and Computer Science- currently has a vacancy for a tenure 
track professorship, renumeration group W1, 3+3 years fixed term, to be 
continued as a lifetime professorship, renumeration group W3 for the 
area of Computer Science.

This professorship should be seen in the context of Technische 
Universitaet Berlin's goal to recruit and advance junior scholars in the 
early stage of their career. The tenure track professorship is initially 
limited to three years. The position shall be renewed for a further 
three years conditional upon the postholder's performance and agreement. 
After six years, as a rule, a lifelong professorship will be offered 
conditional upon the fulfillment of the determined evaluation criteria 
and hiring requirements for a lifelong professorship. Information about

Working field:
Research and teaching in one of the core areas of Computer Science, 
contributing to the foundations and methodological development of 
Computer Science. The following exemplary topics are possible focus areas:

    * Algorithmic aspects of Scientific Computing,
      especially High Performance Computing.
    * Information or Scientific Visualization.
    * Computational Geometry.

Other core areas in computer science are equally possible if they are 
contributing to fundamental research in the Faculty. Teaching in the 
Bachelor and Master Study Programs of the Faculty as they pertain to 
Computer Science is expected.
