The Department of Quantitative Economics (QE) of the School of Business
and Economics (SBE) is looking for an (tenure-track) Assistant Professor
in Operations Research. We are particularly interested in candidates
with an academic record in Combinatorial Optimization, Mathematical
Programming, Approximation Algorithms, Data Analytics and/or Logistics.
Job description
The applicant will be appointed as a tenure track assistant professor
and contribute to research and teaching within the areas of operations
research and operations management. Teaching concerns courses in the
Econometrics and Operations Research programs, as well as in business
and economics programs at SBE, at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Research falls within the Graduate School of Business and Economics. The
QE department has a strong research record in mathematics of operations
research, econometrics and economic theory. It is largely responsible
for the bachelor and master programs in Econometrics and Operations
Research, including Data Science, Mathematical Economics and Actuarial
Science, with yearly enrolment of around 90 bachelor and 35 master students.
Requirements
Profile of the candidate:
* has a PhD (or close to completion) in Operations Research,
Mathematics, Computer Science, or another relevant area;
* has a strong research orientation;
* has experience with education in Operations Research;
* is an enthusiastic and cooperative colleague, willing to
collaborate with the Operations Research group, the QE department, and
the school as a whole in research and teaching;
* As the language of instruction is English, your command of
English (oral and writing) should be excellent.
