Applications are invited for the appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in 
the Department of Mathematics and Institute of Data Science, to commence 
as soon as possible no later than fall 2022 for at least one year, with 
the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should have a research background in optimization and machine 
learning.Those with research areas in stochastic or nonconvex 
optimization are preferred, while individual research interests will 
also be taken into consideration. Both theoretical work and applications 
in machine learning will be emphasized. The appointee will be working 
under the supervision of Dr. Yue Xie (yue-xie.github.io/index.html 
<https://yue-xie.github.io/index.html>).
