The Department of Mathematics at Augusta University invites applications 
for two positions. The first is a tenure-track assistant professor 
position to begin in August 2023. Applicants must possess a research 
doctorate. Having postdoctoral experience is preferred. We are seeking 
candidates who can enrich our M.S. program in Biological and 
Computational Mathematics and support our new interdisciplinary BS in 
Data Science. Expertise in Data Science or Expertise in Statistics with 
competency in Data Science is expected. The successful candidate must 
have a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching and will 
be expected to establish an externally funded research program suitable 
for training both graduate and undergraduate students. The successful 
candidate will teach introductory courses, advanced undergraduate 
courses, and graduate courses which align with their areas of expertise. 
Our M.S. in Biological and Computational Mathematics admitted its first 
class in fall 2020 and the successful candidate will have the 
opportunity to develop new curriculum for that program and supervise 
graduate students in research. This is a nine-month appointment, with 
the possibility of summer employment. Salary and startup package will be 
commensurate with qualifications and experience. A research agenda that 
leverages extramural facilities is welcomed.

The second position is a non-tenure track assistant professor position 
which will be renewable and promotable. A Ph.D. in Mathematics or 
Statistics is expected along with college level teaching experience and 
strong teaching references. The new hire would teach general education 
mathematics and statistics courses and, possibly, the occasional more 
advanced course(s).
