The Algorithms, Geometry, and Applications (ALGA) group at TU Eindhoven 
has a vacancy for an assistant professor in any field within algorithms.

Research in ALGA spans a spectrum of exciting topics within algorithms, 
including computational geometry and topology, graph algorithms and 
parameterized complexity, and distributed and streaming algorithms, with 
applications to visualization, GIS, networks, and more. As a new faculty 
member, you may strengthen the research in one of these existing topics 
or you may expand ALGA’s research portfolio. The position comes with an 
attractive starting package that includes the possibility to hire a PhD 
student.

We are looking for a strong researcher in any field within algorithms. 
As teaching is an essential part of the work, we are searching for a 
candidate who is not only a passionate researcher but also a motivated 
teacher. In particular, we are looking for applicants with the following 
qualifications:

- Experience in algorithms research, proven by a PhD in algorithms or 
another relevant discipline and by publications in leading international 
conferences and journals in the area.
- Experience with or enthusiasm for teaching, both at BSc and MSc level, 
and for supervising MSc and PhD students.
- Motivation for setting up collaborations and acquiring research funds.
- Willingness to contribute to the department, for example by serving on 
departmental committees.
- Good communications skills and good command of English; candidates 
need not speak Dutch.

You will join a dynamic and internationally oriented research group in a 
thriving university. You will work on a beautiful, green campus within 
walking distance of Eindhoven city center. In addition, we offer you:

- A Tenure Track of up to five years and – if successful – a subsequent 
development track towards Associate Professor. Alternatively, we offer a 
one-year contract as Assistant Professor which can become permanent on 
the same employment level upon successful evaluation.
- Salary in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch 
Universities.
- A year-end bonus of 8.3% and annual vacation pay of 8%.
