# Your Role
We offer an attractive both a Research Associate and two PhD Candidate
positions in Optimization for Logistic Software.
The successful candidate will join the SEDAN (service and data
management) research group (https://wwwen.uni.lu/snt/research/sedan
headed by prof. Radu State to conduct exciting research with high impact
in collaboration with multiple stakeholders. He/she will help in shaping
state-of-the-play technology within a RDI (research, development, and
innovation) project involving international industrial partners.
He/she will perform the following tasks:
* Shaping research directions and producing results. Topics include but
are not limited to operational research, optimization algorithms,
data-driven optimization
* Disseminating results through scientific publications
* Collaborating with our industrial partner
* Carry out high-impact research within an interdisciplinary context
* Coordinating research projects and delivering outputs
* Providing guidance to PhD and MSc students (only for the research
associate position)
* Organizing relevant workshops and demonstrations (only for the
research associate position)

# Your Profile ## (Research Associate position)
* A PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied
Mathematics or a related field
* Competitive research record in Operational Research, preferably with a
focus on logistics.
* A previous experience in industrial projects would be a plus
* Ability to work in an interdisciplinary context
* Commitment, team working, and a critical mind
* Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory
* Advanced scientific report writing skills
## (PhD Candidate position)
* An M.Sc./M.Eng. Degree in Computer Engineering, Management
Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
* Within top 10% of class during his/her graduation would be a great plus
* Ability to work in an interdisciplinary context
* Commitment, team working, and a critical mind
* Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory
